Takealot Learnership 2025
Start your career with real experience in e-commerce and digital marketing. The Takealot Learnership gives unemployed youth a chance to grow their skills while working with small businesses that sell on the Takealot Marketplace. This is part of the YES (Youth Employment Service) programme, which aims to help young South Africans gain full-time work experience.
Who Should Apply
This is ideal for young people who want to gain work experience and grow in e-commerce. You must:
- Be between 18 and 29 years old
- Have Matric and understand basic English
- Have less than 6 months of job experience
- Live within 49km of the placement area
- Have no criminal record
Basic computer knowledge is a plus. So is being able to get to work each day without help.
About the Company and Programme Setup
Takealot is South Africaโs biggest online shopping platform. This learnership is not based inside Takealot, but they help run it. You will work with small businesses that sell on Takealot, helping them with digital tasks like marketing.
Most placements are in Gauteng, in towns and busy city areas. Takealotโs team will guide and support you throughout the programme.
Daily Tasks and Work Setup
You will work Monday to Friday for 8 hours a day, just like a regular job. Most of your time – 80% – will focus on digital marketing tasks. These include:
- Helping sellers improve their Takealot store listings
- Running basic social media and product content tasks
- Customer feedback handling and engagement
The other 20% will involve general business tasks so you learn how small businesses really work.
